Mystery Quilt for the New Year (Part 5)

Step 6: Make pieced border

Cut 8 - 1½" strips A1

Cut 4 - 1½" strips A2

Assemble 4 sets of strips A1+A2+A1.

Distribute saved 9-Patch blocks around outside of quilt, placing 9-Patches at corners of border

Connect with sections of A1+A2+A1 sets to fit Appropriately around quilt center.

Stitch border sections together.

Stitch borders to quilt center

Step 7: Add plain border with MP

There should be enough MP to cut plain border lengthwise of fabric. Measure length needed before cutting:

Cut 2 - 6 ½" x ~44 ½" for side borders

Attach to quilt center.

Cut 2 - 6 ½" x ~58" for top & bottom borders.

Attach to quilt center.
