The quilt show committee is excited to announce the 2008 Piecemakers' Quilt Guild Quilt Show, Legacies of Love - Our Stories. Members and non-members are encouraged to enter quilts of all sizes, wall hangings, vests, jackets, dolls made from fabric, and other fabric critters to our quilt show.

The following forms are required for each item you enter in our "Legacies of Love - Our Stories" (2008) quilt show.

Entry Form (MS Word Format)
Entry Form (PDF format)
Identification Label (MS Word Format)

To enter an item in our show, please follow this outline:

  1. Entry Forms with a color photo are due no later than the April Guild meeting, April 1, 2008.

Completed quilts and other items being entered are to be delivered to the quilt show committee by April 17, 2008. Entries submitted after April 17, 2008, will NOT be accepted.

Unfortunately, articles that have been shown at a previous Piecemakers' quilt show are not eligible for this event.

  2. With the exception of antique quilts, all entries must be in show condition, clean and free of stains, wear, etc. All quilts must remain on display for the duration of the show.

  3. A separate entry form with color photo, identification label, and receipt form are required for each item entered.

  4. Each participant may enter as many items as they wish. However, each additional entry after the first is on a space available basis. The committee handling the layout at Centennial Hall reserves the right to limit how many items will be shown representing an individual's work. List your items as 1 through 10 with 1 being your first choice. If for any reason an entry cannot be displayed, the entrant will be notified. Quilts over 12" require a 4 "sleeve running the width of the back of the quilt top. Quilts over 12" cannot be accepted without a sleeve. To make the sleeve for your quilt you will need a sturdy fabric that is 9" wide and as long as the top dimension of your quilt. Measure the top of your quilt. If it is 70" wide, then you will need fabric measuring 9" x 70". Fold sleeve fabric lengthwise and sew long edges together using a ½" seam. Turn the sleeve inside out. Then, press and slipstitch the top and bottom of the sleeve across top of the back of the quilt. Please see diagram below.

  5. If you must withdraw your entry, please let us know as soon as possible and no later than April 13, 2008. This affects our floor plan layout, programs, and set-up. We all understand.

  6. For your convenience, committee members will be available at the end of our February and March guild meetings to take digital photos and to accept items for entry. We will have blank forms at the meetings. Please bring items in clear or white plastic bags for protection.

  7. These members have graciously agreed to open their homes to help with the collection of quilts:

Refer to the Piecemakers roster for addresses & phone numbers. Please, please be courteous. Call to arrange a date and time. Please do not call before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. If either party cannot keep the appointed date and time, please notify the other party as soon as possible. To help the collection process go smoothly, please have your entry form and receipt form filled out and have the identification label sewn onto the item before the appointment.

  8. Entries can be picked up at the end of the quilt show on Sunday, May 4th, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. only. For the protection of the entries, nothing will be released without your receipt. If you are unable to pick up your item after the show, call Doris Bradshaw. The items will also be brought to the June guild meeting for retrieval. Centennial Hall will provide security while entries are hanging in the facility. We encourage each participant to obtain insurance coverage through his or her homeowner's policy.
